Frequently Asked Question

How would you describe your shooting style?

  • Lifestyle!  I love capturing the real emotions and interactions that are a part of everyday life!  Sometimes this will be in a beautiful scenic location and other times is in the simplicity of your living room!

What type of camera equipment do you use?

  • I shoot with professional grade Nikon equipment including a full frame camera and full frame lens (prime and zoom).  If you would like more information on my equipment, please contact me directly; however, I would encourage you to look at my portfolio!

Where will my session take place?  Do you have a studio?

  • Most sessions will take place in an outdoor location in the Hampton Roads area.  I am more than willing to work with you to select the perfect location to meet the look you are going for!  I also offer lifestyle family and newborn session that take place in my client’s homes!  This allows us to capture some special moments or activities that you love doing together as a family!  I do have a small studio in my home which is best suited for newborns, small children, cake smashes, or individual portraits.

 

Can we do an In-Home session even if our house is tiny or dark?

  • Absolutely!  While the more natural light the better, we should be able to capture some amazing images in any home.  Please let me know if you have any concerns and we can work to ensure an in-home session will meet your needs!

 

What happens if it is raining or other inclement weather during an outdoor session?

  • If the weather is poor during your scheduled outdoor session, we can work to find a suitable indoor location or we can work to reschedule your session for a later date/time.  However, please understand that rescheduling will need to be worked around other already scheduled sessions.

 

I found some cute ideas on Pinterest!  Can we do those?

  • I strongly encourage my clients to utilize Pinterest to get ideas and inspiration for their sessions!  While we can attempt to recreate some of the ideas you find, it is often best to use Pinterest as a tool to gain ideas.

What products do I receive with my session?

  • I chose to provide digital image files as the final product.  I do not currently offer prints but am very happy to direct you to some printing companies that should be able to meet your needs.  Only providing digital image files allows me to keep my costs down and give you more flexibility on what you chose to do with your images.

Will I receive every image you shoot?

  • No, you will be provided with only the very best edited images.  I will eliminate duplicate images, test shots, out of focus, and other images that are not of good quality.  I love to capture emotions and movements!  In order to get the perfect shot, it sometimes requires taking multiple images to ensure a smile it just right or a child is looking at the camera.  I spend the time to comb through them to make sure you are delivered with the best possible product!

 

How long will it take me to receive images after my session?

  • I do my absolute best to provide you with a sneak peek either the day of or within a few days of your session!  I try to have your completed session to you within 2 weeks!  Please inquiry on what the processing time is at the time of your session for a more accurate timeline. 

 

How will I receive my images?

  • After editing is complete, your images will be hosted on an online photo gallery for 30 days.  Here you will be able to review, download, and share your images.

Will you provide the unedited photos?

  • You will only be provided with the edited images only.  Each image you receive has been carefully selected and edited to make sure it a quality product.  Unedited images do not provide an accurate representation of my work.  Please make sure you examine my portfolio to ensure to get a feel for my work and to ensure you like my editing style.

What rights do I have to the digital image files?

  • All of my sessions include a print release that will give you reproduction rights to all of your images.  This allows you to reproduce the images for your personal use by getting prints, posting on social media, or making canvases or other products.  Commercial use of your images is not permitted without my approval.  The copyright of the images will remain with me.

Do you backup your images?

  • Absolutely!  I maintain and backup files from all of my session for at least one year.  However, I only guarantee storage for 30 days after delivery of your gallery.  I would strongly encourage you to also backup and protect your image files!

 

How to I book my session?

  • So excited to you have chosen me as your photographer!  I am really looking forward to meeting and working with you!  Please contact me so that we can schedule your session!

Is a deposit required?

  • Yes.  I do require a 50% deposit at the time of booking.  This deposit in non-refundable as it holds the date for you.

​

When is full payment required?

  • The full payment of your session is due three days prior to your scheduled session. 

​

Do you offer any discounts?

  • Yes! I do offer a 10% discount to all active duty military and returning
